Family gatherings became torture. I still remember an aunt saying, “Our wife, you used to be so slim… what happened?”

Those comments cut deep. I stopped taking pictures with my kids and avoided outings because I felt people were judging me. Even in my marriage, I could feel a shift — like the spark was dimming.

Now, This Was The Turning Point?

Being called names like “Iyabeji” (big mama), “Madam Pot Belly,” or “Our Big Wife” was humiliating. But the real wake-up call was when I learned that my weight gain was starting to affect my health. I felt sluggish, tired, and doctors even warned me about fatty liver issues. 

That’s when I knew: this wasn’t just about looking good. This was about my health, my happiness, and the example I was setting for my kids.
